Willie was born around Mother's day in 2009. She slept in a chicken house for about 3 weeks before the rest of the chickens decided they hated her. After that, I moved her to my mom's house where she slept from then on. I would take her to one of the chicken houses during the day. She was a Silver Sebright, very tiny and very bossy. She had chickens twice her size cowering in fear. She was very vane and loved looking at herself in the mirror. She had two adopted chicks who grew to become a hen named Deanie and a rooster named Sammie. Willie loved eating canned corn with cocketiel seed on it and tiny rolled up brownie balls. She'd sit on my lap on the couch so I could hand feed them to her. Willie's daughter Deanie died in 2016 and her son on May 25, 2018. A dog got into the pen where she was for the day and she died later that night of her injuries. At least 4 other beloved chickens were killed that day, but I won't create a memorial for them. Their names were Molly Iris Hatfield a white Cochon who turned 3 on March 17, 2018; Hennie, another Silver Sebright hen, named Henny, who was about 4 years old; Oakley a big black speckled hen that was 2 years old and Lila Ruth a white silkie rooster that was three years old.
