Betty McCorquodale Brown-75, widow of the late Edgar Brown III, Orange business man and philanthropist, died May 11 at her home, Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Bradley officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.

A native and lifelong resident of Orange, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was active for many years with the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and was a life member of the Orange Corps. She was also a member of the Hemerocallis Societies and the Gulf Coast Day Lily Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Gladys S. Brown and Molly Bennett Brown both of Houston; three sons, E.W. Brown IV, and David Bennett Brown, both of Houston and Frank Mallow Brown of Lawrence, Kansas. Two brothers, Allen McCorquodale and W.E. McCorquodale, both of Orange; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
