1930 - 2018

Charles Ensign Brant, age 88, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at home on June 13, 2018. Preceded in death by his wife, Nancy. He is survived by his brother, Fr. David Alan Brant I; children, Julie (Gregory) Brant-Drenovas, David Alan (Cathy) Brant II; grandchildren, Samantha (Nathaniel Foos) Brant and Forest Brant; and caregiver, Sandy Ratliff. Charles was a retired Army Colonel Chief of Staff and a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, graduated from Chaminade Julienne High School, University of Dayton, Northwestern University and The Ohio State University, founding partner of Glander, Brant, Ledman and Newman Law Firm. He was a proud Eagle Scout and Scout Master of troop #261, was a silver beaver award recipient, devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Joseph Cathedral, accomplished trial attorney and avid working mediator. Family will receive friends Monday, June 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 19 at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215 with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Ohio, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr. #265, Columbus, OH 43231. Please visit www.schoedinger.com.
