Clinton was the son of Christian B. and Mary Ann Warfel Miller of Centerview, PA. On Aug. 7, 1881, in Elizabethville, PA, he married Agnes Louisa Enders, the daughter of Civil War veteran Peter J. Enders (1824-1903) and Amanda Dietrich Enders (1824-1896). The couple had 10 children.
