The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Bobbie A. Martin, age 89, of Inverness, Florida, will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness, Florida. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. She was born October 16, 1928 in Harlan, KY, daughter of the late Albert and Stella (Rose) Lay. She died June 16, 2018 in Inverness, FL. Mrs. Martin worked as a Receptionist for Citrus County School Board at Hernando Elementary School. She enjoyed working in the yard and refinishing furniture. Mrs. Martin caught a bank robber at Brannen Bank. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Inverness, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Inverness Women's Club. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Homer Harrison Martin. Survivors include 2 sons, Butch Martin and his wife Vicki of Hernando, FL, and Robert Martin and his wife Lara of San Antonio, TX, a daughter, Patricia Martin of Inverness, FL, 3 grandchildren, Kara Elson and her companion Bret Bennett of Inverness, FL, Joel Martin of Inverness, FL, and Sean Martin of San Antonio, TX, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Regan Elson and Kyrsten Elson of Inverness, FL.
