Johann George (went by George) Frey was the ninth of eleven known children of Peter Frey (1729-1810) and Catharina Walk (1739-1815), who married 23 May 1756 at Friedberg, present day Forsyth County, North Carolina.
George married Elizabeth Rominger (1778-1831) on 04 Aug 1801 at Friedberg, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. George and Elizabeth were said to be the parents of ten children, of whom eight are known, namely:
1. Thomas Frey/Frye (1802-1864)
2. Nancy Anna Frey Launius (1803-1851)
3. Elisabeth Frey Long (1805-1885)
4. David Frey (1807-???)
5. Rebecca Fry Essex (1809-1876)
6. Peter Frey (1815-p1880)
7. Charlotte Frey (1817-???)
8. George Fry (1819-1898)
