Manitowoc - Lawrence J. Anhalt, age 81, a lifelong resident of the Manitowoc area, entered eternal life while surrounded by his family on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Larry was born on June 6, 1937 in Manitowoc County to the late Henry and Althea Burkhardt Anhalt. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1955. On December 27, 1958, Larry married Dolores Girardi at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the log cabin he built, gardening, carpentry, but above all, Larry enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include Larry's wife of nearly 60 years, Dolores; six children, Sharon Anhalt-Kozak, Manitowoc; Dan (Maureen) Anhalt, West Bend; Barbie Anhalt, Green Bay; Thomas Anhalt, Manitowoc; Lynda Anhalt, Manitowoc, and Nanette (Randy) Pitsch, Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, Christine, Brian, Avery, Alexandra, Abel, Bianca, and Ricky; two great grandsons, James and Jacob; brother, David Anhalt, Manitowoc; three sisters, Jeanne (Roger) Ringmeier, Manitowoc; Patricia (Jim) Topping, North Carolina; and Pam (Tony) Zehren, Georgia; also other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Jerome, and Richard Anhalt; and two sisters, Kathy Anhalt and Marilyn Kumbalek
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo - 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Following the memorial service, a luncheon for relatives and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
