She was born September 11, 1943 in Beatrice, WV to the late James Archie and Lena Alice (Layfield) Baker.
She was married for 56 years to her loving husband Robert D. Burwell. She was a graduate of Harrisville High School Class of 61. Lorna was a homemaker whose biggest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grand daughter and watching them grow and enjoying their many activities.
Lorna enjoyed singing hymns and worshiping the Lord at Vaught Chapel United Methodist Church.
Lorna is survived by her husband Robert D. Burwell of Walker; two daughters Sandra R. Anderson (Darrell) of Davisville and Kimberly A. Phillips (Michael) of Powell, OH; one son Thomas E. Burwell (Samantha) of Morgantown, WV; one son-in-law Donald E Brown of Bellville, WV; nine grandchildren, Alishia R. Nolin (Chad) of Parkersburg, Stephen M. Anderson of Ada, OH, Jason R. Phillips of Powell, OH, Laura B. Patterson (Jacob) of Midlothian, VA, Katherine E. Brown of Bellville, WV, Ashley C. Chickerella Vince of Streetsboro, OH, Cassandra K. Brown of Bellville, WV; two brothers Edward R. Baker (Patricia) of Washington, WV and Oren W. Baker, of Marietta, OH and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lorna was preceded in death by her daughter Tamara K. Brown who recently passed on February 15, 2018 and three brothers James O. Baker, Boyd R. Baker and Carrell L. Baker.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 23, 2018, 2:00 pm at the Vaught Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery Harrisville, WV. Visitation will be held Friday, June 22, 2018, 2-4 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, Parkersburg, WV.
