She was born Ellen Boheme in Dresden, Germany on November 21, 1921 and moved to the United States after WWII. Ellen married Larry Anderson on November 23, 1972 and they lived in California where she worked as a medical transcriptionist. After Larry's retirement, the moved to Christmas and she enjoyed entertaining friends. Ellen was fluent in German, French, and English. She had a strong devotion to Larry and had a great love for animals. Ellen is survived by a sister in Germany.
Ellen dramatically escaped from Nazi Germany, then discovered, while living in Christmas, that her "parents" who died in Germany were not her parents but were actually her aunt & uncle, and that she had two formerly unknown sisters in Germany. She was reunited with her sisters during a visit to Germany, and the story was covered in newspapers.
