He served in the National Guard Armory and was retired from Albemarle as a supervisor. He was a member of St. George Baptist Church. Mr. Laurie loved his family, he loved fishing and riding his tractor to cut grass. He was the widower of the late Angie Bair Antley.
Survivors include his son: Eric Antley and Stephanie Caughman of Leesville; 2 daughters: Annette and Gene Spires of Orangeburg, Jennifer A. Moore and Michael Snelson of Leicester, NC; grandchildren: Clint Spires, Natalie Spires, Victoria Antley, Christian Antley, Grace Antley, Allison Moore and Melanie Moore; 5 great great grandchildren; brother: John David Antley (Kay) of Newberry; and sister: Cindy and Brad Packard of Charleston.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2018 before the service at the church 1 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg with burial at St. George Baptist Church Cemetery in Orangeburg with Rev. David Anderson officiating directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg. Memorials may be made to St. George Baptist Church, 2590 Shillings Bridge Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
