Dr. Bonney Did Much for Industry in
Iowa.
Dr. A. F. Bonney of Buck Grove, who died June 30, was internationally known as an expert beekeeper and as an important innovator and investigator in the industry. For three years
1918-19-20, he was president of the Iowa Bee Keepers' Association.
Dr. Bonney was one of the first men in the county to introduce the Caucasian bee from southern Russia, a bee which, experts say, has many valuable qualities.
Through a period of 16 years Dr. Bonney's apiary had an average production of 160 pounds of honey a colony a year, a record considerably above the average. He was a contributor to bee journals in all English speaking countries.
