Barbara was born June 2nd 1930 to Roscoe and Nena Russell. She was a twin to James Hugh Russell. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1948. She entered the field of nursing becoming a nurse for Dr. Harold Poe in Dexter. She worked many years enjoying being a nurse and helping others. She helped deliver and delivered by herself many babies. She was honored many times by the mothers naming their daughters after her!

She met Quentin Edwards and they were united in marriage on June 8th 1957. They would be married 50 years in June 2007. They have been residents of Dexter for all those years. To this marriage two children were born. Elizabeth Ellen Edwards Hamilton now of Lakeside Texas and Marc Quentin Edwards of Dexter.

After her children were born she stayed home to take care of them. She became involved in being a mother, Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout Leader, PTO mother, room mother, taking her children to piano lessons, her daughter to dance lessons and many other activities. She was an active member of The Order of Eastern Star for 59 years. She held many offices and enjoyed her friendship with fellow members. Later in life she became a licensed Electrologist. She enjoyed her work helping countless people.

She is survived by her loving husband Quentin of Dexter, her daughter Elizabeth(Libby)Hamilton, her son Marc Edwards, her son-in-law Charlie Hamilton, grandson Quentin Hamilton, sister Polly Sheets of Dexter, twin brother James Russell of Essex, Jerry Russell of Battle Creek Michigan and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents, brother David Russell, and sisters Alice Keller, Ruth Gilliam, and Betty Meyer.
