Annie Laura Smith, 97, of North Charleston, entered into eternal rest Sunday June 24, 2018 at her home.

Annie was born October 30, 1920 in Roanoke, AL to the late Nathaniel Paul Black and Sally Bell Swan Black. All of her life she was an avid gardener with an adventurous spirit and loved to travel.

She was a member of Cherokee Methodist Church. She retired from the Charleston Air Force Base Officers Club after 30 years of civil service. She was a vital and energetic lady full of love and generosity.

Mom was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her presence will be sorely missed.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Lynda S. Taylor, Debbie S. Schad (Dennis L. Schad) and 1 son Villard Pervis Smith, Jr. (Jan Smith), 5 grandchildren, Donna Wadsworth, Jennifer Taylor, Trey Smith, Josh Smith, and Walker Smith, 1 step-grandchild, Elizabeth Wadsworth, and 3 great-grandchildren, Mark "Jamie" Fennessey, Drew Davis, and Jesi Davis.

She is predeceased by her husband of over 56 years, Villard Pervis Smith, Sr.Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 11AM in the Chapel.

Burial to follow immediately at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery.
