Jack Larkins Obituary
Jack T. Larkins, Sr., 84, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family.
A graveside service, officiated by Reverend Michael Beeks, will be held at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 S. Cherry Road on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends following the ceremony.
Jack was born in Wilmington, NC. Love for his country led him to enlist in the United States Navy. He served during the Korean War on the USS Guadalupe, a refueling tanker for the battleships Missouri and New Jersey. His proudest military achievement was his selection and assignment to a fleet submarine, the USS Cobbler. He was awarded six medals and citations during his years of service. He then moved to Rock Hill, where he was employed for thirty-four years at Bowater Corporation. He was a member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church.
Jack was a devoted family man and is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Faye Powers Larkins. He was proud of his three children, his son, Jack Larkins, Jr. (Dawn) of Kernersville, NC; his daughters, Donna L. Goodwin and Janet L. Guyton (Chuck) both of Rock Hill. He adored his five grandchildren, Kaley Goodwin, Brett Larkins, Jack Larkins III, Dillon Guyton, and Alec Larkins. He is also survived by his sister, Betty L. Bragg (Stacy) of Slidell, LA. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ila Mae Larkins, brothers, Franklin Larkins, Robert Larkins and sister, Connie L. Clardy.
Memorials may be made to Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, 1024 Rawlinson Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Condolences may be sent on-line to greenefuneralhome.net
