Rosemary Abbate, 96, passed away peacefully June 28, 2018. Rosemary was born November 7, 1921 in Laredo, Texas. Rosemary was the 8th of 12 brothers and sisters born to Thomas and Luz Duncan. Rosemary is now resting with her husband of 69 years, Joe Abbate.

Rosemary is a special person, always seeking to help someone, always putting others needs ahead of her own. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and received great joy from spending time with her family.

Rosemary worked for Spring Branch ISD as a dietician for over 15 years, ultimately reaching the positions of head dietician and regional manager. Joe and Rosemary lived on the family farm at Westheimer and Hillcroft until 1955 when they moved to Spring Branch.

Rosemary is survived by her 4 children; 2 sons Joe and Tom, 2 daughters Louse and Mary, along with 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren

Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Woodlawn Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM, with a Rosary recited at 6:30 PM. Funeral service will be Friday, July 6 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories. A reception in celebration of her will follow.
