She was born August 2, 1974 in Chillicothe, OH. Barbie is survived by her parents, William Hart and Jacqueline VanGundy and George and Nancy Hart; her husband Carl; her three children; her two stepchildren; four siblings; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Roger VanGundy; grandparents, Jack Hamilton and Barbara McCormick, Ben and Mildred Hart, and Edith Thouroughman; an uncle and two aunts.
Barbie attended Paint Valley High School and graduated from Needles High School in California. She participated in track and field, enjoyed crocheting and was an artist, who touched all the lives of those who knew her. She loved attending Sunnyside Chapel Church where she decided to give her life to God.
The family offers special thanks to Adena Hospice, her caregivers, and the Adena hospital staff for the dedication and care on the family’s behalf.
A celebration of her life and an opportunity to tell stories will be held 3:30 pm Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Cremation will follow. Friends may call 2-3:30 pm Sunday at Haller’s. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made to the Southern Ohio Women’s Cancer Project, Ross Co.
