Dick was born November 4, 1925, Amherst and was raised in South Amherst until he moved to Amherst in 1952.
Dick worked as a stationary engineer in the power house at General Motors in Elyria retiring in 1988 after 23 ½ years. Prior to that he worked as a stationary engineer for the Cleveland Quarries from 1942-1959.
He was a member of St. Peter United Church in Amherst, the CHI RHO couples club at the church, and SCOA the Senior Citizens of Amherst. In addition he was a member of the General Motors Retirees and Union Local #780.
Survivors include his two sons; three step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren and his good friend and neighbor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty- five years Eileen A. Bartlome (nee: Kreger); his son E. Jerry Bartlome in 2002; and his parents Walter and Alice Bartlome (nee: Young).
Friends may call Friday, June 1, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township, Ohio.
