He was born in Cincinnati, (Hamilton County) Ohio on Friday, April 16, 1943 the son of Delton and Beatrice “Att” (Foster) Vaught. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Mt. Gilead Lodge #255 F. and A.M., graduate of Eubank High School (class of 1961), Graduated from Nashville Diesel Mechanics School, and was certified by the National Masonry Institute which led to him being an instructor for masonry at Job Corp. in Pine Knot, Kentucky and then became the Regional Director overseeing six facilities in several states. He loved fishing, camping, farming, woodworking, (building many fine pieces of furniture) and most of all his beloved and restored 1934 Ford Coupe “Charlotte” showing her off at the Somernites Cruise.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Larry Wayne Burton, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Hazel (Adams) James. He is survived by his wife, Judy Lynn (James) Vaught, whom he wed on Friday, March 21, 1969, daughter Minda Lynna (and Samuel Joseph “Bud”) Hudson, granddaughters, Jaslyn SaKara Hudson and Shalyn Jaylah Hudson all of Nancy, Kentucky, sister, Shelva Karen (and Ray) Burton of Eubank, Kentucky, nephews, Kenny Ray Burton (and Mary Tyson), Christopher Dale “Chris” (and Donna) Burton, Lifelong Friend, Johnny (and Marlana) Smith, sisters-in-law, Lana (James) Cassada and Margaret (Jasper) James, and many, many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Ky.
