Marjorie Kell Molakidis (nee Marjorie Ann James) was born on July 27, 1928 at Children's Hospital in San Francisco to Alec and Louise James while they were residents of South San Francisco. On July 12, 1931 her younger brother Bill was born, completing the family. One of her early remembrances of living in "South City'" was sliding down the letters on Sign Hill with Bill, which was close to their house when their neighborhood was fields of violets grown to be sold by the flower vendors on street corners in San Francisco.

Bill joined the Marine Corps to serve in the Korean War and was tragically killed when he was just 19 years old. After moving from South San Francisco to Burlingame, she was a Peninsula resident for most of her life. She went to Burlingame schools, Washington Elementary and Burlingame High School. She graduated from Burlingame High in 1946.

After graduation, Marjie married Lee Adair and they moved to a 25-acre farm in Sebastopol, allowing her to have all the animals she loved, especially her darling lamb Baa Baa, who followed her everywhere. Lee and Marjie had one daughter, Linda, before their marriage ended. In 1950 she married David Kell and they had three children together David, William & Susan. They were married for over 25 years. The Kells were active with local Boy Scout Troop 28. Dave was assistant Scout leader and Marjie was Den Mother helping out in many ways. Dave died in 1980 from complications related to Multiple Sclerosis at just 54 years old.

At a Burlingame High School reunion, Marjie reconnected with Al Molakidis who she had known since grade school. She found a school band photo with the two of them in it – Al played the tuba and she played the string bass. Al and Marjie were married in 1984 and were together until his death in 2001. They shared a love of orchids and at one time owned a greenhouse with over 2,000 plants focusing on very unique varieties of which they were immensely proud. They were active members of the Peninsula Orchid Society.

Marjie loved needlepoint, nature, gardening and animals. She loved the beach and spent many happy hours in Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz and Searsville Lake. She deeply loved living on the Peninsula and was an active member of the Burlingame Historical Society. She also remained in contact with groups of both elementary school and high school friends. A high school group she was a part of still meets monthly for lunch and she was able to attend until the latter part of 2017.

Marjie worked for about 17 years at Breuners as a Bridal Consultant. Her paychecks were issued to "MA Kell". (Marjorie Ann.) This would become an adopted name many who knew her used. MA Kell was mom to many other than her own children. Her house was always open for visitors and houseguests and she had several extended family members and friends live with her over the years. She was a most genuinely gracious hostess, always making everyone feel like family.

Marjie adored her 8 grandchildren Will, Daniel, Kiriana, Austin, Lauren, Jessica (Jeremy), Cody (Karissa) and Tricia (Fredy); 4 great grandchildren Mackenzie, Corban, Audrey and Alec and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She remained especially close to brother in law Dan Montag (Jean Kell Montag) and his children Tom & Katie & families, sister in law Joan Kell (George Kell), sister in law Marilyn Tragoutsis (Al's sister) and cousin Shelley Reid.

Marjie was selfless, giving and loving. She also had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She fully enjoyed her life yet was also anxiously anticipating being with the Lord and reuniting with loved ones. She was very determined to be able to stay in her home and not live in a care facility. We are so happy this wish was carried out. Very special thanks and love go out to Bill and Micki Kell who have been living with her and caring for her the past two years.

We will miss you terribly and love you so very much. Bye for now, Mom, Grandma, GG.

"Job well done good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23.
