It is with great sadness to report the passing of Leonard George Shay on July 4, 2018, who has gone on to be with his beloved Beverly for eternity.

A devoted husband, family man, and Korean War veteran, Leonard lived a full and happy life, taking most pride in meticulously prepping his garden every planting season.

He is survived by loving granddaughter Melinda (and husband, Adam) Williams; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Dylan; daughter, Cristal (and husband, Dale) Sluyter; son, Brian (and wife, Carol) Shay; dear family friends, Barbi and Sam Sloat; as well as countless friends, acquaintances, and extended family members whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Special thanks to Leonard's wonderful friends at Value Energy, Becky's Diner, and Valley Bowling Center for their generosity, kindness, and love.

A private service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to DAV Charitable Service Trust, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076, or Operation Homefront, 1355 Central Parkway S, Ste. 100, San Antonio, TX 78232.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Thomas Cremation and Funeral Service, 1297 Elmira St., Sayre, Pa. Those wishing to send a private sympathy message to Leonard's family may do so at thomascremationfuneralservice.com.
