Lois Mae (Lingenfelter) McCormack, age 82, of North East, died on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 17, 1936, in Brookville, Pa., the daughter of the late Alton Y. and Mae Bell (Strawcutter) Lingenfelter.
Lois graduated North East High School (Pennsylvania) in 1956, then served in the United States Navy as a commissary specialist. She was formerly employed at the Texas Lunch (cafe), North East School District, and finally was the second shift plant operations manager for McMillin Pie Factory, which later became Pet Bakery. Lois was a member of the North East American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and Historical Lighting Society of Canada. She enjoyed going antiquing, collecting oil lamps, putting together jigsaw puzzles, reading books, and visiting flea markets / antique markets all over the East.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Mark McCormack; brothers, David and Philip Lingenfelter; sisters, Dorothy Glover, Nancy Lingenfelter, and Margaret Lingenfelter.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leon E. McCormack Jr., whom she married on April 20, 1957; children, Leon E. McCormack III (Sherry) of North East, Michael A. McCormack of North East, and Jeri L. Phelps (Robert) of North East.
Interment will be in Grahamville Cemetery.
