Obituary
Harriet Brownlee
was born in Richmond county, Ohio, October 12, 1826. She was the youngest but one in a family of eleven children. Born of Scotch and German parents this was a hardy family; only one died under the age of seventy, one reached over ninety, but of this family now only one remains.

When twelve years of age she moved with her parents to Warren county, Illinois, where she was married in 1846 to Jessee Laird. After a number of years she moved to Washington county, Kansas. Here the husband died and eighteen years ago she came to Centralia with her son-in-law, F. Bedker, at whose home she died Oct. 30th.
She was the mother of four children, two living and two dead. She leaves eleven grand-children and sixteen great-grand-children.

For over six years she has had very poor health and a week ago she fell and fractured a bone. This with her feeble health was more than she could endure and as the silent hour of night drew on her spirit calmly and peacefully passed to him who has said "Come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest."
