Mrs. Ackley was born in Lorain, where she was raised, on November 14, 1923. She lived in Lorain and Sheffield, prior to her move to Amherst in 1959. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, she enjoyed gardening, raising birds, and bird-watching.
She leave her husband, William B. Ackley, whom she married on August 26, 1941; sons, William 'Skip' Jr. of Lorain and Dennis of Oberlin; brothers, Bill and John Gallovich; plus three grandchildren.
Closing prayers will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home in Amherst. Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
