Obituary of Fitzhugh Duer

Duer, Fitzhugh Lee, Jr. 94 of Ocean City, NJ passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Bridges at The Shores at Wesley Manor in Ocean City, NJ.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was formerly of Seaville and Absecon, NJ moving to Ocean City, NJ in 2007.

He graduated from Drexel University in 1944. He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army. Mr. Duer worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Boeing in Chester, PA for 25 years retiring in 1980. He was a volunteer at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point for ten years. Fitz enjoyed photography, genealogy and his dogs.

Fitz was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Winifred Glynn Duer in 2003.

Surviving are three children, Fitzhugh Lee Duer, III (Maureen), Maryann D. Prudhomme, Freddi Lamb (Francis) all of Ocean City, NJ, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday morning at ten thirty am from St. Frances Cabrini RC Church of St. Damien Parish, Second Street at Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from nine thirty am until the time of mass. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, NJ.
