SEPTEMBER 15, 1921 – JULY 7, 2018

A.D. Arnold passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at he age of 96. He was born 0n September 15, 1921, in Gladewater, Texas, to Arthur Arnold Sr. and Sallie Phillips.

He grew up in Tyler, Texas, graduated from John Tyler High School and Tyler Business College. He began working for Shell Oil Company, but his 44 year career was interrupted by serving 4 years in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Sucess. After completing his service in the Navy, A.D. married Donna Tuttle on November 17, 1945 and have been married for 72 wonderful years.

After retirement from Shell, A.D. and Donna traveled, enjoyed spending time with family and watching thousands of Astro baseball games. In his free time, he liked making wooden toys, collecting stamps and coins, and faithfully read the newspaper, USA Today from cover to cover daily.

A.D. was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Sallie Arnold, daughters Pat Martin and Jan Knust, brother Aubrey Arnold, sisters Ruth McCary and Kathleen Rascoe.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, sister, Evelyn Ray, sons Steve Arnold and wife Kay, Tommy Arnold and wife Peggy, son in laws Fred Martin and Alan Knust. Grandchildren; Andrew Martin(Paige), Jill Berry(Sam), Adam Martin(Katlyn), Cody Arnold(Kristen), Allison Deuterman(Jason), Mark Arnold, Doug Arnold and Kyle Arnold. Great-grand children; Asher, Isaac, Zane, Jake, Drew, Trent, Truett, Owen, Olivia, Emmy and Bennett.

The family of A.D. Arnold would like to thank you for your prayers, support and love as we celebrate the life of a GREAT man.
