Capt. Parks entered the Marine Corps in September of 1941. He trained at Corpus Christi, Texas and Mojave, California. He served in the Pacific Theater and was killed in action on March 31, 1945; his body was lost at sea.
Capt. Parks was survived by his wife, the former Doris Bennett of Elkhart, Texas; his mother, Judy Parks; and brother, Dwight E. Parks.
