Clyde Armintrout moved to York County, Nebraska in 1908, and his wife Pansy Blossom Downey arrived in 1894, they grew up on farms separated by a creek. The couple married 18 Oct 1911 in the Methodist Church parsonage in York, Nebraska. Their five children were all born in York County.

Clyde, Pansy and their five children moved to California in 1937 after their home was destroyed by fire. Prior to that, he farmed, operated a garage and threshing machine in Charleston, Nebraska for 26 years. He was also director of the Charleston School District for 14 years.

The couple owned a gas station and garage in Manhattan Beach, California for twenty years before retiring.
