Sheboygan - Gregory Lee Adamavich left us peacefully on July 5th at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, WI at the age of 71.
Greg was born on March 8th, 1947 in Sheboygan and graduated from North High in 1965. Greg proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1968-1969 as a radio operator. From the time he was young, he was drawn to music and that passion continued throughout his life. Greg has shared his love of music, as well as his talent for playing the guitar with friends and family his entire life. Once dubbed the "Music Man", Greg could play and sing the lyrics to what seemed like an endless number of songs. Greg was also a champion level backgammon player; a skill he honed while working and living in the gaming industries of Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Las Vegas. The only thing Greg loved more than the guitar and backgammon were his friends and family. Greg cherished, and often encouraged, family gatherings and togetherness. Greg was a devoted father and grandfather, a loving son and brother, and a dedicated friend to many.
Greg will be lovingly remembered by his family including his mother, Ruth Adamavich, partner in life Barbara Griffith, loving daughters Ann Emond, Amanda Hildebrand (Eric), step-daughter LesLee Pasquill, as well as his grandchildren, and joys of his life, Lacy, Angelaca, Madeline and Benjamin. Greg was the oldest of six children and was a dear friend to all his brothers and sisters: Kate Munns (Wendell), Richard Adamavich, Dan Adamavich, Carol "CJ" Duehring (Scott), and Mary Adamavich (Barry). Greg will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, Frank L. Adamavich.
A memorial service for Greg will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday, July 20th at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Ave., Sheboygan. Father Matthew Widder will officiate.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Greg's arrangements.
