He was born in Sumas, WA to parents Lyle and Violet Vail. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Frankie Vail, 2 sons, Steve and Clark Vail and his sister, Dodie Kleindal. He is survived by his wife Darlene of 61 years; daughter, Cathy and her husband Rick Aufrecht; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Tam (Paul) Insley, Pat Timboe and Gerry (Norm) Haveman; brother, Mike (Linda) Vail and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017, 1:00 PM at Ten Mile Cemetery
