Wesley Hrydziusko, 87, a longtime resident of Windsor, died Friday evening, July 13, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor.
He was a graduate of Windsor High School, Castleton State College, and retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor. Formerly, he was a member of the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal.
A firm believer in public service, Wes had previously been a member of the Windsor School Board, Board of Selectman, Vermont Legislature, and the Vermont Transportation Board.
He enjoyed Jeeps, antique automobiles, antique engines, cutting lumber, and generally fixing anything that had dust or rust on it. He was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and he enjoyed watching nature shows and listening to music. He loved his community and the state of Vermont.
He is survived by three sons; Wesley of Windsor, VT, Wayne of Jacksonville, FL, Whitney and his wife, Jackie Hrydziusko of Alpharetta, GA; one sister, Veronica Ferguson of Longmeadow, MA, many nieces and nephews, and his cat, Junior.
He was predeceased by his wife, Germaine “Polly” Hrydziusko in 2003 and his brother, Stanley Hydrisko.
