Vera Alderman, 95, of The Nottingham, died at her residence. Vera was a life-resident of Syracuse. Mrs. Alderman was well-known for artistic talents in watercolors, and oils, as well as in sculpture, ceramics, and culinary arts. Vera was awarded a special certificate of achievement from Syracuse University in recognition of the extraordinary number of credit hours of study she earned. She was a member of Temple Society of Concord, Lafayette Country Club, Drumlins Country Club, and was an active volunteer to the Red Cross during WWII. Elvira was predeceased by her husband, Saul in 1985. Survivors: Her sons, Edward B. and Richard B.; her daughter, Sandra Swartz; a sister, Mimi McWilliam; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Birnbaum Funeral Chapel. Calling hour Wednesday from 9 to 10 at the funeral chapel, 1909 E. Fayette Street. Burial in The Temple Society of Concord Section of Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Students Scholarship Fund at Manlius Pebble Hill School.
