Zelpha was born on November 25, 1928 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri to the late Henry Howard and Laura Mae Reeves. Following high school, she worked for International Shoe Factory in El Dorado Springs and later for OA Sutton and Western Control in Wichita, Kansas. In 1950, Zelpha married the love of her life Wallace Joseph Anderson in Huntsville, Arkansas. They relocated to Warner Robins in 1971 where she lived for the rest of her life. A devout Christian, Zelpha moved her letter from West Central Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas, to Shirley Hills Baptist Church where she was a member for the past 45 years. She later began her career at Robins Air Force Base where she worked for 18 and a half years before retiring.
Zelpha had a zest for life and loved to travel with her family. An avid Atlanta Braves fan, she enjoyed gardening, working in her flowerbeds and around her house, sewing, quilting, and putting together puzzles. However, the love she had for her family was unmeasurable. She had an individual love for each of her children and grandchildren.
Her beloved husband of 64 years, Wallace Anderson, son, Dale Rex Anderson, and sisters, Ivy Byerlee, Violet Mast, Leona Garland, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Zelpha will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Anderson’s arrangements.
