Randy Bowen

Randy W. Bowen, 66, of Ottumwa, died July 19, 2018 at home.

He was born November 21, 1951 in Ottumwa to Wayne and Arlene M. Redmon Bowen. He married Sheila Richmond in 1971 and they later divorced.

A 1970 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Randy had been a resident of Ottumwa all of his life. He had served with the Iowa Army National Guard.

Randy had worked for John Deere Ottumwa Works. He was a member of Izaak Walton League and was an outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting. Randy was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Surviving are his children, Travis Lee Bowen of Ottumwa and Brandy Jo Turner of Boone; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Linda (Terry) Troutfetter and Rhonda (Travis) Reeves both of Ottumwa; his companion of 18 years, Barbara Flactiff.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cynthia Bowen.

Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. Military services will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Humane Society.
