Died--At her home in Kansas City, Kansas, November 1st, of pyaemia (blood poisoning), Mary Smith Hoisington, wife of A. J. Hoisington, aged 36 years, 4 months and 18 days.
Mrs. Hoisington was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, daughter of Jackson and Mary Smith. When 10 years old, with her parents, she moved to Madison county, Iowa, where she received her education. December 31st, 1874 she married A. J. Hoisington, and a month afterward, with her husband, removed to Great Bend Kansas, where Mr. Hoisington was engaged in the newspaper business for nearly ten years. In 1883, with her family, she moved to Garden City, Kansas, residing there until 1890, when the family removed to Kansas City, Kansas.
She was the mother of three boys, all living. Earl, aged 14 years; Roy, aged 9 years; and Frank, aged 4 years.
Mrs. Hoisington joined the M. E. church when 16 years old and remained an ardent and true Christian until her death, dying as she had lived, quietly, sweetly, and assured of immortal life in Heaven.
Her mother and mother-in-law, her husband and her children were at her bedside when she passed away. Her remains were taken back to her old home in Iowa and laid in their last resting place in the old family cemetery in Jefferson township, Madison county, Iowa, November 3rd. The funeral was attended by a large number of her old time friends and schoolmates and most of her immediate relatives.
An affectionate wife, a model Christian mother, quiet and unobtrusive as a neighbor, she is mourned by all who knew her.
