She was born May 30, 1911 in Stokes County, N.C., and was a daughter of the late Sandy A. and Alice Virginia Martin Beasley.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Major Monroe Everett; and a sister, Alma Brintle.
She was retired from Oakdale Knitting Company and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Bowman of Ararat; one son, James Sander Everett of Mount Airy; two sisters, Bessie Moore and Rachel Atkins, both of Mount Airy; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Moody Funeral Home chapel in Mount Airy. Dr. James Baughn and the Rev. Ray Hamilton will officiate with burial in the Doe Run Baptist Church cemetery.
The family received friends tonight (Wednesday) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
