James Delmar "Jim" Amos, of Cassville, MO, formerly of Monett, passed away, Tuesday morning, July 24, 2018, at Roaring River Nursing Center in Cassville, MO.

Jim was born on October 1, 1922 in Butterfield, MO, son of the late William Arthur and Bessie Francis (Ulmer) Amos.

Jim was a retired truck driver. He was an Air Force veteran, honorably serving his country. Jim enjoyed fishing in the lakes and streams in this area. Always one to enjoy nature, he loved spending time in his garden. He enjoyed his family, having a good time and wanting everyone to enjoy themselves.

In September of 1973, Jim and Imogene Hubbard were united in marriage. Imogene preceded him in death on June 16, 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie; one son, Jerry Amos; one brother, Ivan Amos and one sister, Mary King.

Jim is survived by three sons, Robert "Bob" Amos and wife Wanda of Pleasanton, CA,, Don Amos and wife Darlene of Tracy, CA and Leland Amos of , San Quentin, CA; two brothers, Glen Amos and wife JoAnn of Gerber, CA and Charles Gifford and wife Evelyn of Pierce City, MO; one sister, Doris Gautney of Cassville, MO; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a special niece, Darla Pippin of Cassville, MO; one sister-in-law, Norma Amos of Aurora, MO; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Graveside service for Mr. Amos will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2018, at White Chapel Cemetery in Springfield, MO with Reverend Virgil Beck officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
