Mrs. Faye Burch Roberts, 95, of Birmingham, AL passed away at her home on Monday, July 23, 2018.

She was born in Mississippi, the daughter of Wallace Thomas "Tom" Burch (1877-1949) of Louisiana and Nola Pierce Burch (1891-1992) of Mississippi.

Siblings: Snellings Brawdus Burch (1913-1987), Fannie Madge Burch Alford (1914-2005), Odeal Edna Burch Johnson (1917-2006), Marie Burch Campbell (1919-?), T.J. Burch (1926-?) and Pauline Burch Deavers (1929-?).

Paternal Grandparents: Thomas Jefferson Burch (1861-1924) of Louisiana and Mary Jane Simmons Burch (1860-1936) of Mississippi.
Maternal Grandparents: James Martin Pierce (1864-1915) of Mississippi and Ella Elizabeth Smith Pierce (1864-1958) of Mississippi.

In 1945, she moved to Mobile, AL and started working at Morrison’s Cafeteria and retired in 1982. In Nov. 1945, she met the love of her life, Luther “Ray” Roberts and was married in April 1946.

They were married almost 65 years and had three children.

Faye was a graduate of Lexie High School in 1944 and was a member of Lexie Baptist Church in Osyka, MS.

She also had an extensive work history in the food service industry with over 50 years of experience that included Morrison’s and Robert’s Cafeterias.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Luther “Ray” Roberts; son, Larry Michael Roberts; son-in-law, David P. Fincher; and parents, Wallace Tom and Nola Burch.

She is survived by her two daughters, Esther R. Griggs of Birmingham, AL and Barbara R. Fincher of Burns, TN; two grandchildren, Matthew Fincher (Lauren) of Houston, TX and Ashley R. Fincher of Jefferson City, MO; one great-grandson, Connor Fincher; and siblings, Marie Campbell of Pace, FL, and T.J. Burch (Ann) and Pauline Deavers of Tylertown, MS.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Reverend Alton King officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
