Mr. Robert Edwin Riel age 91 years, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Bob was born January 2, 1919 and was a life long resident of Thunder Bay. He fought in World War II with the Navy. Bob was employed over the years with Canada Car, Northland Machinery in their sales department and taught welding at Selkirk High School. He worked for many years with the Dolcetti family at Dominion Motors. He joined the sales team of Metal Welding Supply from where he later retired. Bob certainly had a gift of telling many humourous stories and jokes to his customers, friends and family. With always his distinguished look and charming personality he could definitely sell ice to Eskimos! The Riel family was a large family of 11 children in Thunder Bay. Bob was predeceased by his parents Edward and Alice Riel, sisters Janie and Marguerite (Frank Thompson); brothers Eric in infancy, Raymond, Keith and wife Mona, Bill and wife Grace and Jack; brother-in-law Larry Stringer and brother-in-law and best friend Harry Husiak.
