Abraham Calvin Dixon died in the Louisiana Hospital, Pike County, Missouri, on Sunday, Aug 17, 1930 at age 69 yrs 5 mos. He had been ill for several months. He was born Mar 3, 1861, the son of William Dixon and Polly Ann Ayers. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Steel on Dec 11, 1881. She preceded him in death in 1926. They were the parents of three sons, William Harvey, Carl Edward, both who survive him, and Martin Lewis who died as an infant. Other survivors include three brothers, Jeffrey Jackson and Joseph Henry of Curryville, John Thomas of Oklahoma; and one sister, Mrs Delilah Agnes Kinion of Spencer Township.
A highly respected citizen, Abraham was a native of Pike County where he lived his entire life. He resided with his son, Carl, in Spencerburg the last few years and was known as a generous hearted man of that community. A member of the Baptist Church, he contributed largely of his means and faithfully lived the teachings of his faith.
His funeral and burial service was held at the Mt Air Church and interment was at the cemetery there.
