Hilda (Buccilli) Smarelli, 91, of Worcester St., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 26th, in the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, after a long illness. Her husband, Frank Smarelli, died in 2011. She leaves her two daughters, Jo-Ann Barnes and her husband Herbert of Holliston and Dawn Quigley and her husband Paul of Southbridge; six grandchildren, Scott Barnes of San Diego, Jeffrey Barnes and his wife Stephanie of San Diego, Matthew Quigley of Southbridge, Jonathan Barnes of Marlboro, Michael Quigley of Southbridge and Meagan Quigley of Southbridge; and several niece and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, James Buccilli and four sisters, Emily Walsh, Eva Pierce, Josephine Reardon and Rose Romano. She was born in Quincy the daughter of Domenic and Anna (Galante) Buccilli. Hilda worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for over 35 years, retiring many years ago. She was a member of the St. John Paul II Parish in Southbridge and it's St. Rita's Society. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
