Elmer was born on July 7, 1932 in Tecumseh, NE to the late Fred and Freida Badertscher. Elmer went to school and did his chores growing up on the farm into a man. After his service years, he took those skills and worked at Pan AM and Lockheed at the Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex in Merritt Island, FL. After retiring to Blairsville with his wife, Elmer's biggest passion was gardening, as well as, collecting and restoring antique appliances; washing machines, toasters, irons, butter-churns, ect.
