DAVIS Graveside services for Claud E. Parrish Jr., 77, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Drake Cemetery with pastor Willard McCartney Jr. officiating.

Born on Feb. 23, 1930, at Pocasset, Okla. to Claud E. and Rosa L. Akers Parrish. He died Saturday, April 28, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Johnny and Bill Parrish.

He attended school at Dougherty and graduated from Fletcher High School. He served in the US Army from 1948 to 1949 , re-enlisted in 1950 and served until 1954. After being discharged he worked as an auto mechanic for 11 years. In 1966, Claud enlisted again and served during the Vietnam war and received several medals including the Air Medal and Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in 1975. In 1986, Claud retried and returned to Dougherty where he enjoyed gardening, hunting and visiting with friends at the local coffee shop.,

He is survived by a son, Vance Chamberlyn; four grandchildren, Cody, Falon, Aubree and Charity, all of Idaho; a brother, Leaton Parrish, Oregon; and sisters, Rose Goldman, Davis, Imogene Hudgins, Caddo, and Oma Shotts, Chandler, Ariz.

Hale's Funeral Home will direct services.
