Colleen L. Bristol, 82, of Boise, died Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home.
Colleen L Bristol was born on July 18, 1936 in Idaho Falls to Maude (Honey) and Xenophen Later. Her Childhood was spent in Arizona and Eastern Idaho. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School, attended Idaho State University, and then pursued a career as a Pan Am stewardess. In 1957 her first child Bradley was born in Pocatello, Idaho. In 1961 she married Juel Bristol and relocated to California. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters Juelie and Judy. After her marriage to Juel ended, Colleen returned to Idaho Falls where she pursued a career as a bookkeeper and secretary. In 1967 Colleen gave birth to her 4th and final child Tim.
In 1977 Colleen landed her dream job as an operator for Mountain Bell. In 1980 she advanced in her career which brought with it a move to Boise where she and her family started a new life. In the late 1980’s Colleen’s career shifted to a position as a clerical specialist for the State of Idaho where in 1999 she was recognized for excellence. In late 1999 she took early retirement to care for her ailing mother. After her mother passed in 2000, Colleen continued to enjoy her retirement, spending time with her 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 granddogs and 43 great granddogs. Colleen could often be found in the bleachers of various sporting events, cheering on her family in their endeavors, playing bingo with friends, cutting a rug at every opportunity, or indulging her passion for Dale Earnhardt Jr. – her favorite NASCAR racer.
Colleen is predeceased by her parents; brother Alton Later, and granddaughter Xoe Bristol-Wright. She is survived by her children: Bradley Bristol of Caldwell, Juelie Traska of Priest Lake, Judy Brown of Boise, and Tim Larimer of New York City; her grandchildren: Xenophen Bristol, Nicholas Traska (Jessica), Ryan Traska, Jeremy Traska (Shaynee) and her great grandchildren: Ahdrie Wright, Juelianna, Kayrmen and Jacob Traska.
