William Warren Wilson was the only son of George Washington Wilson (1832-1895), a brickmaker, and Mary Moss Davis (b. 1851, Kentucky). He was born in Bloomington, McLean Co., IL on 26 Jul 1879.

After his father’s death in 1895, he and his sisters went various directions. Warren’s older sister May Matilda (1874- before 1930) married Mason Van Buren Carter (1877-1945) moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas Co., Arkansas, about the same time as Warren, and lived there the rest of their lives.

Warren married Johanna K. Balle on 29 Dec 1903 in Stuttgart. Johanna was born in Feb 1884 in Denmark and emigrated to the United States with her parents about 1890. She appears with her parents James E. Balle (8161-1934) and Marie (1860-1942) in the 1900 census for McFall Twp., Arkansas Co., Arkansas, near Stuttgart. Warren and Johanna had two sons: James B., known as J.B. (1905-1961) and George Gordon (1907-1967).

Warren was a poultryman in Stuttgart in 1910. By 1918 he was a salesman for the Magnolia Petroleum Co. in Little Rock and was living in his own house (with a mortgage) at 104 S. Anne St. Warren died 14 Aug 1928 at the age of 49 in Stuttgart, was buried in the Lone Tree Cemetery, next to his wife, Johanna, who died the previous year at age 43, according to cemetery records.
