Sybil A. Beard, 80, rural Fredonia, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.

She was born March 27, 1927 in Squires, Missouri, to William Henry and Alpha Mae Hardcastle-Manning.

On June 5, 1946 she married Alfred Beard in Erie, Kansas. He survives.

She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church, Fredonia, KS.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Beard, Locust Grove, OK, Delbert Beard, Bemidji, MN, and Dwight Beard, Fredonia, KS; a daughter, Donna Dowty, Butler, MO; two brothers, Max Manning, Topeka, KS, and Billy Manning, Highlandville, MO; three sisters, Julia Adams, Fredonia, KS, Patsy Rice, Omaha, NE, and Katherine Mayfield, Topeka, KS; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Burial will be April 27, 2007 in the Weakley Cemetery near New Albany, Kansas
