Bob Carlson, 80, of Schaghticoke, beloved husband of over 54 years of Jean M. Rockenstyre Carlson of Schaghticoke, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family at home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Helmer and Grace Reeve Carlson and was a graduate of Hoosic Valley High School in Schaghticoke.
Bob was a proud Dairy Farmer, owner and operator of Viewmere Farm in Schaghticoke for over 50 years. He had also been a School Bus driver with the Hoosic Valley Central School District.
Bob was passionate about his dairy cows and draft horses. He was a founding member of the Rensselaer County Draft Horse Association, and a member of the Percheron Horse Association of America and the Rensselaer County Farm Bureau.
Beloved husband of Jean, devoted father of Kim Carlson-Murray (Mark) and Donna Murray (Jim), both of Schaghticoke and Maryjo Hall (Ren) of Alpharetta, GA, cherished "Gramp" of Elizabeth, Evan and Patrick Murray, brother of Grace Carlson of North Greenbush, Joan Ronald (Bob) of Bradenton, FL and Edward Carlson (Mary) of Albany, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Transfiguration Parish, 17 S. Main St., Schaghticoke, NY 12154 as well as to the Mass of Christian Burial that will begin at Noon in Church.
Spring interment will be held in St. John's Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
