Fought in WWII as part of the 4th Armored Division in the Battle of the Bulge under General George Patton.
After WWII, he returned to New Mexico and operated Harrisons Mobile Service in the town of Pecos (now Adelo's Town and Country Store). He was also a rancher, running cattle and farming the family land. He served Pecos as a school board member and then as mayor.
He is survived by his children George (Marie), Jeanne, Samia Armijo (Bill), and Frank; grandchildren George Samuel, Benjamin, and Amanda Adelo, Jared, Juan Carlos, and Joaquin Armijo.
