At age 101, JENNIE KALATA PAOA AHNEE "NANA," was called to be with our Lord. Our beloved Grandmother "NANA" passed away peacefully at home, in Kaneohe on July 8, 2018. NANA will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Samuel G. AhNee Sr.

Born August 29, 1916 in Honolulu, Nana and Grandpa were the owners of Pete's Grocery in Kalihi. Nana loved spending time with family, enjoyed her grandchildren and children of all ages so much, that she and grandpa volunteered their time as Foster Parents for several families. Nana enjoyed her weekly visits to McDonalds for her hot fudge sundaes, shave ice and taking trips to Las Vegas. She enjoyed spending time outdoors in her yard with her dogs, chickens & rabbits. Nana's other love included planting fruit trees; bananas, papayas, guava, five finger, bread fruit, avocado, mountain apples and making sure to share them all with the neighbors when ripe and ready to eat. Among other activities, she enjoyed yoga, knitting, crochet, sewing, planting, leisure walks and bus rides with friends, Clara and Barbara.

Nana is survived by her grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Borthwick Mortuary on Thursday, August 9th, 2018. Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Services: 11:00 a.m.; Burial: 2:00 p.m. at Greenhaven Memorial Park in Kaneohe.
