MUSCATINE, Iowa - Betty M. Blake, 81, of Muscatine, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Genesis Hospital, East Campus, Davenport. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Wade Duroe of the Hillcrest Baptist Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be Scott Havel, William Havel, Jim Blake, Steven Blake, David Willett, and Jeffery Willett. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the funeral home. Betty was born on January 19, 1924, in Buffalo, the daughter of Leroy and Grace Fordman Preston. She married Harold W. Blake on April 17, 1943, in Muscatine, Iowa. She worked at HJ Heinz Company retiring in 1971. She loved dancing, her family, her dogs and her flowers. Survivors include her husband, Harold W. Blake of Muscatine; two sons, Gary L. Blake and wife, Rita, and Donald W. Blake, all of Muscatine; one daughter, Linda A. Havel and husband, Richard, of Muscatine; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Kimball of Warrensburg, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Donna M. Edwards, two brothers and three sisters.
