Betty A. Dredge Klingler, 90, of Newdale passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home.

Betty was born in Rexburg, Idaho on January 27, 1928 to Richard David Dredge and Aileen Graham Dredge. She attended school in Newdale, Sugar City, and graduated from Ucon High School in 1946. She married Grant L. Klingler January 8, 1947 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Newdale and farmed there for 55 years.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a teenager she earned her Golden Gleaner award. She loved the Primary and served as ward president, on a Stake board as Primary Chorister for 14 years, Relief Society presidency, teacher and ward librarian for many years.

Music was an important part of her life. She sang with a sextet and the ward choir for 50 years. She also sang many duets with her daughter Colleen. They sang for programs, meetings and funerals. She enjoyed walking with her friends, reading. sewing and helping her husband on the farm. She was an excellent truck driver and homemaker. She and Grant enjoyed camping, bowling, golfing, traveling and snowmobiling. She loved spending time at their cabin at Henry’s Lake in the summer and Mesa, Arizona and St. George, Utah in the winter.

She loved sports and followed her children and grandchildren’s activities for many years. She was passionate about her family and the Utah Jazz.

Betty is survived by her 4 children; Colleen (John deceased) Pocock, of Moody; Lewis (Christine) Klingler; Dee (Peggy) Klingler; Weston (Teresa) Klingler; of Newdale; 27 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Florence Dredge and Coy Brisco; a brother, Dale Dredge; a foster daughter, Virginia Ann Still; great-grandson, Grant William Klingler; and a grandson-in-law, Christopher David Murray.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Newdale LDS Chapel with Bishop Shayne Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N. First E., in Rexburg and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
